IDC has added a new vessel to its maritime fleet. MV Le Revenant was officially launched at the Seychelles Ports Authority headquarters at New Port, with Vice President Sebastien Pillay and Minister for Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation Veronique Laporte performing the traditional champagne-breaking ceremony – a maritime custom to bring good luck, safety and prosperity to a new ship and its crew.

The 30-metre vessel, capable of carrying 100 tonnes of cargo, is purpose-built to strengthen IDC's connections between Mahe and outer islands of Seychelles. It is equipped with a deck crane featuring a one-tonne capacity and a 12-metre extended boom to assist with loading and unloading operations.

Constructed at the MoC shipyard in Goa, India, by an Australian company, Marinetech, the vessel's build began in 2022 and took nearly three years to complete following technical and logistical delays. It departed India in mid-February 2026 and arrived in Seychelles on 23 February, with a crew of nine – including three Seychellois.

MV Le Revenant will operate alongside Enterprise II, which has served IDC for nearly 15 years, as IDC also begins considering future fleet renewal plans.
