IDC joined organisations from across Seychelles at the Golden Jubilee National Expo 2026, held at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex from 26 to 29 June, as part of celebrations marking the country’s 50th anniversary of Independence.

Bringing together culture, innovation, local products, entertainment and community spirit, the four-day event provided IDC with an opportunity to showcase the diversity of its activities and the important role the outer islands continue to play in the development of Seychelles.

IDC welcomed visitors to a 20m by 20m pavilion inspired by the traditional Grann Kaz on Silhouette Island, creating a distinctive setting that reflected the character and heritage of the islands.

Furniture produced by GICC took centre stage, alongside a range of products from the islands, including coconuts, coconut oil, balye zig, charcoal and salted fish. The products proved popular with visitors, with the salted fish selling out by the second day of the Expo.

Beyond the island products on sale, the pavilion offered visitors a broader insight into IDC’s operations. Displays highlighted the Company’s work in aviation, shipping, technology, environmental management and aquaculture, as well as the guesthouse facilities available to Seychellois wishing to experience the islands managed by IDC.

The pavilion also featured two interactive games which attracted strong participation throughout the event. Lucky winners walked away with a variety of prizes and giveaways, including pieces of furniture.

IDC’s conservation partner, the Island Conservation Society (ICS), also joined the Company at the Expo to showcase the conservation and ecosystem restoration work being undertaken across the IDC islands.

The IDC pavilion attracted a steady stream of visitors over the four days and received positive feedback for the breadth of activities and products on display. Among those who visited were President Dr Patrick Herminie and Vice President Sebastien Pillay, who holds the portfolio responsibility for the islands.
